There are many new fads out there claiming to whiten your teeth. One of those products advertised is NuSkin AP24 toothpaste. What is all the hype about and will this give you the results you are looking for? The toothpaste is described as having vanilla mint flavor and does not have peroxide in it. If there is no peroxide then, how does the toothpaste work?
The ingredients listed on the toothpaste tube include:
Sodium Monofluorophosphate
Pyrophosphate
Dimethicone
Poloxamer 407
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate
Titanium Dioxide
Consumers have to be careful if choosing to use this toothpaste. There are harsh, abrasive ingredients in the toothpaste that can harm or remove the outer layer of your teeth called enamel. Once the enamel is lost, the teeth may appear even more yellow due to exposed dentin, which is the layer of teeth under enamel. There is a whitening component in the AP24 paste that may temporarily whiten your teeth, however, it will not be long term. If you are very eager to try AP24 toothpaste, please do not use it long term to prevent harming your enamel.
