Braces And Invisalign

Braces and Invisalign are the most commonly used appliances to help correct tooth misalignment. We offer a full range of orthodontic treatment options, including several types of braces and Invisalign, in both our Suwanee and Cumming locations! An in-office or virtual complimentary consultation with Dr. Gorlovsky will provide you with information and options to improve your smile.

How Do Braces and Aligners Differ?

Invisalign offers smooth and clear plastic aligners. This is often the preferred choice for patients who live a busy lifestyle, or simply don’t like the look of traditional braces. They are removable, which makes for quick and easy cleaning, comfortable wear, plus you can eat anything your heart desires!

Braces have been the conventional type treatment in dentistry for years, and they are still popular today! Braces come in many different types and styles, including clear, metal and even gold!

Braces use wires and brackets to correct your tooth alignment. Traditional braces require having your wires tightened every six to eight weeks. You may experience some discomfort when your braces are placed or adjusted, but this is temporary. Some patients complain about poking wires, however, our team can provide you with wax to help you feel more comfortable. Brushing and flossing is different with braces and you’ll have to adjust your diet accordingly while undergoing treatment.

Caring For Your Aligners

If you choose Invisalign aligners, your treatment will consist of a series of clear plastic aligners. You’ll receive several months worth of new aligners that you replace at home every one to two weeks until the treatment is complete.

Your teeth need to be spotless when aligners are placed in the mouth. You will meet with Dr. Gorlovsky about once every six-twelve weeks to make sure that your treatment is on the right track.

Caring For Your Braces

When undergoing orthodontic treatment with braces, we ask that you avoid eating hard, sticky, chewy, or crunchy foods, to prevent breakage of your braces or wires. You must continue to practice proper oral hygiene and keep your teeth, gums and braces clear of food and plaque, preventing bacteria from growing in your mouth. Here is some information on how to brush with braces.
